You Maverick guys out there aren't going to like this one..... I had to sacrifice a Maverick grill to do this mod. I cut the grills apart and fiberglassed the Maverick grill into the hole of the Comet grill. I then cut a hole in that piece for a 4" driving light to fit thru. I mounted the lights to the radiator support. The last picture is two days later at my first car show of the complete grill and the trophy I won for best of show in the 70's category. There were over 150 cars there. ( By the way, my Comet was still missing the front and rear windshield moldings, the door panels, the passenger seat and only had part of the custom console that I'm building....... and still beat all those Chevys ):rofl2:

Finished product looks good! Just wish you'd used a standard early model grill with out the lights to cut up!:D

I didn't have a choice. This was off of a 4 door Maverick I bought when I needed the rear panel to modify the Shelby tail lights and panel that I molded in..... (Thanks Ray for the idea). I was trying to figure out how to modify the grill and there was the Maverick grill sitting in the corner...... Sorry

As a maverick owner, I approve. It gave its life for a worthy cause. Besides, how many comet parts have been sacrificed for the beautification of Mavs? Killer car too, congrats on the trophy.

Nice work!!! I never liked the way the Comet lights were molded into the grill either. I've had a plan to modify mine also.

Yes there is..... It came with the scoop when I bought it from a friend. It's off of a Boss Mustang. I also modified sequential LEDS for turn signals in the back of the scoop.

By the way, Thanks to everyone for there comments.
