So my income tax money FINALLY came in and I can get an engine to put in(STILL trying to find a "GOOD" v8 with auto trans for less that 500, but weas wondering if anyone who just Enjoyed working on them around Lexington(Might be able to Dolly it to Irvine or Elizabethtown or somewhere... but A, I NEED a space to work and someone with the know how to make it work... ) It is getting to the point where I REALLY need to either rebuild the engine and trans, or drop another in. I know it's already been modded to fit a 48, and was hoping someone could help me out.

Its still my "In town" daily driver, due to lack of an alternative... but I still want to do it Justice. would HATE to have to sell her and buy some crappy civic or something, but I NEED a bit of help.

Thanks to any and all who have taken the time to read my plea, and feel free to PM me if you are close, or have an engine/trans for sell, or KNOW HOW to completely rebuild not just an engine, but a trans, or if you just have any other questions!

    Thanks!

It has the original straight 6 in it, I believe 170cc, but it could be a 200cc, I can't remember off the top of my head, and the trans is I believe a c4 automatic... Also the stock transmission I believe...

I JUST spent the day replacing the battery, solenoid, and some of the wiring, Hoping to start looking at fuses when the weather clears.

The Engine is not in the best shape, but it's drivable. I just don't want to destroy it, and I'm afraid that if I keep driving it, it's what is going to happen.

I'm not going to lie, even though I know a few things, I am in search of someone who knows what they are doing. I have no problem doing it myself, if someone has the patience for that, LOL. You wouldn't be doing ALL the work... Some one has to "Order Pizza's like No Other!" 10 points if you got that movie reference. =P I am willing to do the vast majority of the back-work, just not great on the howto/whyto, if that makes sense.

My dad did custom Upholstery for like 30 years, but has a messed up shoulder, no place to work on it/ not many tools for the mechanic side of things. He also hasn't done major engine work in 15 years or so, and doesn't have the up most confidence about it either. Which is another reason why I'm seeking a mentor of sorts when it comes to the Mechanical side of things... Knowing how to rip a headliner out like no other is a little different than replacing an engine/transmission.

LOL Justin, that sounds EPIC!!! LOL Sadly, I live in Lexington, and just driving down to Irine would be like a 6 hour trip(as my transmission doesn't like to go when it gets to hot... and I like to exagerate :p)

Maybe Mean Mav has a Dolly, and can swing by Lexington on the way and we can all just make the trip and do it up "Chip Foose" Style(LOL If ONLY I could get on that show, LOL) Maybe... I can dream, LOL.

I don't mind taking the nice "leasurely trip" I just don't actually trust my poor car to make it with me...

    LOVE the Idea though...

Yeah, I'm not one to just "drop my car off, I actually like to be hands on and LEARN while I'm doing it. That sounds like a great offer. I am STILL searching for a v8/auto trans for it, and I fugre once I get it I could rant a uhaul or something to go pick up the engine/trans, and just use THAT to dolly the car wherever... like up to covington. I'm HOPING to borrow my moms car one of these weekends and go down to Irvine to visit Mean_Mav... as he appearently has a quite impressive/extensive maverick grave yard, LOL.

Will just require a bit of planning. I'm hoping that I can get the engine/trans in it in a Saturday, or at most Saturday/Sunday... and Would definately put up the "pizza cash." or what I could, ya know?

I live in an Apartment here in lexington, so I have NO space to work, lol... They don't even like to see my hood popped, let alone changing oil or anything, lol.

I also have a few friends in Cinci that I could go spend the night and visit if it does turn out to be a weekend type of trip, but right now I'm just looking for options incase I need them, and I THANK YOU for atleast that kind sir!

Bro it can be done in a weekend if you have all the correct parts. Then again there is almost always an issue with a swaplike this....
My offer stands though I am an A.S.E. Master tech been doing this **** for 17 plus years. Sorry that I will not come to you but all my tools are here and a building to secure said tools etc... Pizza sounds great until I factor gas/loading my tool box on a roll back etc....:D I gaurantee I have all the right tools HERE!!!....bring it up when you are ready.....I do not mind helping people.....your call.....and you will be helping and learning.....if I end up doing all the work I get paid my 50.00 an hour rate I charge customers!!!! and do not take offense to the last bit but I refuse to get taken advantage of by any body.....like I said you want help I will helpif not Good luck I am sure you can figure something out either way keep us posted on this site I love seeing progress reports:tiphat::Handshake

*EDIT* I totally read that last part wrong. I read "I don't take offense" instead of "don't take offense" because I'm an idiot, LOL.

I don't take offense to it at all, I COMPLETELY understand, and am not out to take advantage of anyone, but know I need some help/guidance with this, ya know?

Sorry if I made anything of my last post sound offensive, lol. It wasn't meant to be at ALL, quite the opposite actually. I don't expect anyone with the location/tools to try and bring said locationand tools to me. If I am asking for help I am going to do all I can to make it happen(I.E. making the trip up TO YOU, and all that.) The pizza reference was in regards to your place... Not to mine. =) I have no where to work on it here.

It's also a line from Gone in 60 seconds... where Memphis asks his brother what Freb Can Do... and His Brother say something like "Oh, Freb? Freb can order pizza's like no bodies Business..."

It was just a little "Car Movie" Humor. I'd be glad to take you up on your offer once I figure out the parts and how to get them up there.
