I think Maverick Man has some dumping directly at the ground
    outside the springs.

    Pics Maverick Man?
I may try that if I ever get that far along.

just remember.....if they are dumping down towards the ground.....if you are ever in a show field or something like that it can sure turn up a LOT of dust!
    been there, witnessed that!

Ballpark. $150 to $300 range, depending on material and how good of a job they do.

Yeah, it can vary a lot depending on how much they do. A couple years ago I had a new exhaust put on mine by chain-store Tuffy Muffler. 2 1/4" aluminized pipe from the headers all the way back and they made an "H" pipe. I happened to already have a pair of DynoMax mufflers so I had them installed. Cost $225 and the guy did a really nice job. Another muffler place about a mile away from the first (Mieneke, I think) wanted $300 to do the same thing. Then he tried to sell me some bozo 5" diameter exhaust tips!

i just had duals put on my 71 and they exit out the back with no rattle and no problems. i had the local midas shop run them and total cost was $250. installed flowtech exaust( terminators) with chrome tips. looks and sounds great. suprises alot of people with the sound coming from a 4dr maverick. i love the looks.
