    Hello Everyone!

Just joined the site today and it's a privledge and a honor to be able talk with other Maverick/Comet owners that bleed the blue!:bowdown:I just purchased a 1972 Mercury Comet 2dr with only 29,228 original miles! Stock right down to the original Motorcraft belts, spark plug wires, plugs etc. I am the 3rd owner and boy what an original! The Comet sat most of it's life here in Wi so it has some rust issues I have to deal with, we had to replace the fuel tank and the complete gas line along with the fuel pump and a couple of rear brake lines as they were rusted from sitting in the grass. Put a battery in her and a little gas down the throats and Voila! She took right off!:bananamanJust put a few hundred miles on her this weekend, runs great! I think I need to change the plugs and the original points though, has a intermittnet miss and I think the carburetor has varnish residue in it still, been sitting a LONG TIME!!!!!

How bad is the passenger side, I never went and looked at it in person? Do you think you can reuse the door, or are you going to replace it?

The passenger door was dented in from a previous accident, I just pulled the door panel today and pushed it out from the inside. The door otherwise is in decent shape, I will be able to save it.
