so i'm getting a 74 4 door to fix my car and i'm excited. i'm only paying 100 bucks for it and it has a rebuilt tranny and a 240 so i think i will swap engines. it also has disk brakes so i'm really excited about that.
I bought a 74 Comet 4dr for parts a couple of years ago. It had th factory 302, C-4 & disc brakes. I got it for $200. It was in such good shape, I couldn't part it out. But, I did swap the disc brakes to my 73 Comet. Now the 4dr has all drum. I take both cars to MCCI Mini Meets. Good job, & good luck.
I have a 1974 4 door Maverick and in need of two things: 1. Rear bumber rubber gaurd inserts. 2. Fan Shroud If you can part with either of these let me know.
so i went and got it last night. it has a 250 in it and it runs really nice for sitting for a couple of years. got some good gas in it and it started right up. it is running a little rich though so i'll have to probly rebuild the carb and do a tune up on it. so other than the fact that the interior is completly trashed and it has major rust damage behind the rear drivers side wheel. it is in pretty decent shape. and i only payed 100 bucks for a rebuilt tranny and a good running engine. whats even better is that the engine only has 67 thousand miles on it. the lady said that it has never turned over. i'm going to fix my comet, take the parts i want off of it, and then put the stuff from my comet back on it and give it to my sister so she can have a car to drive. luckly about the interior a guy at my dads work has a 74 4 door that has a ruff exterior but a good iterior that i'm going to put in. that way i'll keep another maverick on the road.
oh yah the rear bumper guard inserts are gone and there is no fan shroud sorry about that wish i could help
