is the broken bolt going through the header into the head or is it where the exhast pipe meets the manifold?
Seems like a good reason to use carbide bits when drilling out a broken bolt. Here's a quote from the Internet. Never could think of a use for left-handed drill bits but, there it is. I suggest you remove whatever part (exhaust manifold? head?) contains the broken bolt and take it to a machine shop. They shouldn't charge you much to remove the bolt. Since you've already done several repairs, if you pick up a repair manual and follow it you should do that OK. Really like your attitude. Good luck with it.
Re: raydenaomi I think it's where the exhaust pipe meets the manifold? Do you have a website so I can look at the parts you have? Thanks for the help
Thank you so much for the bit of information. This should get me going in the right direction. I feel confident that I can handle the task. I think I will look for that left handed drill bit. Carbide? I'll look at home depot. Really appreciate the help againHandshake
Suggestion: Get a cheap digital camera and take some pics and post here so we can see exactly what you have there. It might be done on the car, then again, you may have to remove some parts to get the bolt out. I don't want to sound discouraging, but from your posts I gather that you are sorta inexperienced in auto mechanical work, and sometimes you can do more damage than good if you don't know what you are doing. We have all been there, and some of us, me included, learned the hard way, by tearing up stuff trying to fix something else. We are here to help, so ask away!
