aftermarket stereo install

    im really lost as to which wires are for what

    being this is my first classic

    installing the aftermarket stereo in my 240 was a breeze lol




    my maverick im so lost lol

    if i knew what colored wired to tap into or what was what thatd be great howd you guys do it also can u be specific on wire colors if its not too much trouble Thx in advance

    i hooked it up but it wont turn on and off with the ignition i might of did it wrong

    you mean "you might have done it wrong"


    You need to find a hot wire that switches off when the ignition is off. Hook up the power wire to that wire/circuit.

    i checked the stereo install write up the wires are different on the 73 cept the yellow one for the 12v constant

    what should be the switch wire is white/red i guess i just have to eliminate and hopefully find the right one lol

    Run the stereo’s power wire to the fusebox’s accessory terminal and the constant power for the memory to the cigarette lighter wire...or find some of these connectors and put behind the fuse.
