So today I attempt to install a front dash speaker in my 73. Easy right? Yea, OK!

Is ther some kind of bracket I need? All that was there is a cheesy cardboard thing. It apears that there was a factory radio in it at one time but it had been replaced with an aftermarket AM radio. Yes, AM.

I have a factory AM radio, a speaker from NPD. Do I use that cardboard thing or is there something else? If I use the cardboard, How does it work? I see that it attaches to the studs/nuts for the dash but what about the front of it? I can't seem to see anything that it would attach to.

    Thanks,

    Jon

The bracket in the first picture from the above thread is basiclly what I have. My question is what does it attach to under the dash? The wider area seems to go to the nuts on for the dash pad. Right? What about the front attachments? I can't see anything in my car that would work. What am I missing (the car or me )

There should be studs up there to attach all (4) points of the dash speaker.

I'll look again but I'm pretty sure there arn't any studs toward the front.

I found where the studs are "supposed" to be. Any suggestions?

I think the studs can be "put in". I can probably figure it out for you when I get back from the MCCI Roundup Nationals and I can probably sell you the studs.

I figure I can do just that. I also need the bracket that the speaker bolts to. Anybody have one of those?
