Tomorrow I start trying to figure why my trans isn't working. It seems to be in gear all the time. I'm going to drain it and pull the pan. maybe I can see something amiss. (probably not) then i guess it's pull it out and take it to the trans shop.
It was chattering in low , it shifted good. didn't chatter when I started off in 2nd gear. Fluid is full and doesn't smell burned. It is also slipping now. :( wish me luck.

That stinks. Maybe some trans guys will chime in soon.

Not sure if posted before, Can you give more details on your new tranny? Who and what was done and was there a problem before?

Get a quote from the transmission shop first - if it is more than $850 dollars give Jay at Broader Performance a call - he sells a C4 that will hold 500 HP for that price.

It was slipping. also chattering sometimes in low. it now seems like it is in gear all the time. When I try to put it into park, I can hear the parking pall clicking against...what ever the parking pall locks into.
I am going to drain it and pull the pan and see if i can see anything amiss. (like parts lying in the bottom . if nothing, I guess pull it again and take it to the shop.

I drained and pulled the pan yesterday. Fluid is pretty black and does smell burned. No parts and very little "clutch dust" in the pan. I guess it's off to pull it, again. Frank, I'm coming after you record.

I got about 50 miles from there (30 miles from home) and got towed back.
I have it ready to come oputjustcooling lines and 5 bell houseing bolts. 90+ยบ is too hot to spend more than a couple of hours fooling with it. I should have it out tomorrow.
