When I bought my Mav I thought it was a 1970, but I read that 69 1/2 had the ignition on the dash and every other year had em on the steering column. So if you can look at my pic and let me know that'd be great.

It is a 70, we just call them 69 1/2, since it's an early production feature that was changed.

thanks. i figured after i read that that it was a 69 1/2. Since it is the early production will all swap parts/and aftermarket parts for a regular 70+ work/fit?

I see it has the red line in the speedo, does it still have the horn ring? Does it have the mirror that screws to the windshield frame instead of being glued on the windshield? There are a couple of other little things also but those are the main things.

There seems to be so many variaties of, what is called, the 69.5 Maverick with some having different parts if it was an early version or a late version. It seems like the one distinct difference is that under dash key switch that puts it into the 69.5 column.

It is still registered as a 1970 regardless :)

Can anyone post a better pic? I can't see it all that clearly. I don't think I've ever seen a 69.5 and I'm curious how it looks. From the angle of this photo it looks like an ignition switch just laying on the shelf, hanging from wires....lol

The ignition pod actually bolts to the shelf :)

Yeah it has a glued on the windshield rear view mirror. What do you mean by horn ring? So if it has the red line in the speedo its considerd an earlier model? And ill try to get a better angle picture up tomorrow but yeah it does just bolt down to the shelf..
