If you are not familur with the old radios, they have two nuts on the shafts holding them in the front. You have to take the knobs off, then use a deep well socket or needle nose pliers to remove the nuts. Like maverick75 said, most will have a nut, usually about 3/8" or 5/16" in the rear also that has to come off. Then you can take the radio out from behind the dash.
On mine it could not get the nut off. I think someone before me cross threaded it. Even holding the bottom nut would not let me turn the end nut off. I had to take out the ashtray and remove the bolt that held the bracket to the dash. Then remove the radio with the bracket. Hopefully yours is easier.
ya have to take out the lower dash peice, the radio is hooked to the upper dash by 3 screws that you'll see after the lower dash is outta the way
I considered an AX when working on mine. What a pain if you don't know. It had been so long since I had done it.
Yeah I was ready to use an ax too, that dang bolt on the back of the radio just wouldn't come off! I finally just pushed the radio back through the bezel and then ripped it from the bracket.
