shocks?

    1973 2dr Maverick 302c my other car got stolen!!
    What kinda rear shocks well fit a 73mav with a 8.8 rear end i was looking at the edelbrock IAS shocks for the fords but there isnt a maverick listed so what kind do i get? what year mustang should i buy for?

    The guy who had it befor me put some airshocks and i am pretty sure he said 8.8 rear end

    Look at it from behind the car.
    Is there bolts holding on a rounded plate
    in the rear?
    If so, it MIGHT be an 8.8.
    If not, it is probably and 8 or 9 inch.

    i have an 8 inc rearend so what kind are good thats not to expensive?

    Monroes from Advance Auto Parts are gas-charged and only $9.95 each and they are better than the original equipment. These cars are light in the rear and do not need super expensive shocks like KYB or Koni...

    What year Mustangs fit the old Mav? or is there some other car i can look for that well fit? Thanks Marc.

    Why? You gonna pull some off a Mustang & put 'em on your Maverick?
    Lots of different auto parts stores sell Monroe shocks, or the equivilant. The brand isn't even all that important.

    Call your local auto parts stores and ask them for their cheapest shock for the rear of a Maverick. Then go with the best price. They're all better than original, which was pretty much adequate unless you're into slalom racing, in which case your entire suspension would be built from expensive high-performance parts anyway. Twenty bucks & you got yourself a pair of decent new rear shocks...
