Thanks for theWelcomes and for the information! Thank you to everyone! Happy to be aboard. This is going to be a fun project, and I think it'll require me to seriously brush up on my metal working skills! I'll probably just make the side skirts for the laker pipes from scratch, that way I can put some venting slits to help with heat distribution. My wife and I saw a '74 near where we live, and the way it sits is very much like mine. The only difference being ... it's all finished and painted! Which was a good thing. It gave my wife a chance to see how cool it can look when it's all done. I'll post updates on the progress, and of course asking questions along the way. If anyone hears about a schedule for Maverick and Comet shows, please pass it on. I would love to get this Mav out to see the country when it's done! Thanks!
We have basically 3 shows that are local to you and they are Cruizin Colby on Memorial day weekend, XXX Root beer is Issaquah date unknown at this moment, and Mega Ford Weekend at Mission Raceway in Canada somewhere around Labor day weekend other than that it is hit and miss on more than one Maverick or Comet together at a local show. Coop the Washington state rep usually keeps us informed of anything that is happening, with as many Washington members as there are getting to be perhaps more get togethers could be arranged
Like Mike said. We have the Colby Cruize, in Everett. The MCCI Mini Meet @ XXX Root Beer in Issaquah, always the last Sunday in July. You have to make it to Mission Raceway, in Canada with NAMCC. We have a great weekend & you don't have to race your car. Just bring your car & hangout. I don't live far from you. I'm in Pacific, next to Auburn. I have a few parts & know even more people local, with parts. We'll help however we can. Looking forward to meeting you, Jeff.
Thanks Coop and Mike. I do know Pacific. I cruise through there on my way to family in Sumner, Puyallup and Bonney Lake. One thing I am looking for right now is a replacement carb for the straight six that's in the car now. The ding dong that had in before me put in a manual choke and really fouled up the carb in the process. I was just going to replace the clutch on the 3 speed manual, but I decided that I might as well get an automatic on the floor and just replace the whole trany all together. (My wife can't drive a stick anyhow.) The trany is in good shape though, if you know someone looking for one. I was figuring that I could just use a center console from a Mustang in conjunction with the floor shift auto. Do you know anyone with a auto trany, with a floor shift? Jeff
