i would weld a nut onto bolt. the heat of the will usually loosen the bolt and it will just spin out. just makesure you protect every thing around the area from the splater from the welding.
If you know a welder, have him take a look at it. Maybe he can burn it out or build it up with weld so that you can get a grip on it. I'm just bouncing out ideas, to see what everyone thinks.
the only way i know of is to weld a nut to it. if your not a skilled welder then find one. some one should be able to weld a nut to the bolt. they may need to build up some weld on the bolt to get enough material to weld the nut to. ive seen welders tape that doesnt allow splater to burn through. you probly want to get some of that and use it to mask off the area.
It sounds like you didn't drill it out big enough and used too small of an ez out. (not pointing fingers, just helping you so you don't have to suffer a second similar heartbreak). Show us the package from the ez out listing the brand and material, or at least brand and we can look up material. There may be drills or other tools that are harder and can get through it. It also sounds like you may have plenty of bolt material left to work with, which may be a good thing to help get it out around the broken ez out. Or even post a picture of the damaged bolt/ez out. We might get some ideas from seeing it in person.
yeah point away... i know its my fault... cheap cheap cheap cheap easy out.. titan brand aka parts store... was in a hurry and didnt do it the right way... ill get a pic soon
I am not getting any hits on titan and easy or ez out. So if you can find the package, that would help. I hate to see you swap engines just because of a broken bolt...
The fact that it isn't shattering but is moving has me thinking it isn't as hard a material as we think it is. If it is cheap, it may be a much softer material, and a different method may be needed. Otherwise it may just become a solid slug back in that hole. Which means it may be able to be drilled out if we can find a harder material drill.
There is a special welding rod made just for that purpose. It won't stick to the cast block, only the bolt. It is used to remove by shops to remove head bolts and the like that are below the block surface. They are pretty pricey, about $5-6 apiece, but one is all it takes most times. I can't remember what it's called, but any good truck parts supply or welding supply should carry them. I had a head bolt broke off in a Cummins diesel I had, they welded to it with the rod, then it screwed out with their fingers.
Titan is a brand sold by most of the autoparts chains, and is way much softer material than the top brands. Get a narrow cold chisel and a 5lb.short handle hammer.Even though it's bottomed out, that sucker should split.
Guess I should have phrased that a little different.lol They are hard, but nothing like the top brands.Check here, this might help. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=153648
