Just got a phone call from one of the contract photographers from Modified Mustangs and Fords magazine. My 66 Fairlane has been accepted for a feature spread in a future issue of the magazine. He wants to set up a photo shoot within the next two weeks. I couldn't be more excited. I know it would be better if it was the Maverick, but I've owned my Fairlane for almost 25 years (my first car) and it has huge sentimental value to me. It will be quite a thrill to see it in MM&F magazine.
Very nice car. I always like the 66-67 Lanes. I believe the 500's w/ the post or kind of rare. I like those wheels; what kind are they?
They are ION brand wheels. I came across them at the All Ford swap meet in Columbus a few years ago and thought they would fit the style of my car. I wanted something with the Torq-Thrust look, but just a little more modern. I'm pleased with the way they look on the car.
That has to feel great. I think most car guys have this goal/desire to have a car in print. Congrats! By the way, love the car. My parents had a 66 hard top when I was young and I would love to have one.
A feature is great. nice job. There is a picture of my mav in the last issue of NW cruisin magazine. It is fun. Congrats.
I guess it makes a car guy feel like all of the blood, sweat, and tears he's put into his ride was worth it. I'm a big believer in building your car for you and no one else, but it is nice to be recognized by a group like MM&F. You never know if other people will appreciate your personal style when your building your toys.
You have a beautiful Fairlane, if I ever finish the mav that will be my next project. I was looking for one of those when I found my 1st mav........
