    does anyone know of any good fiberglass fenders

    the car is not a race car so i want fenders as good as factory if not better.

    most of the posts on this sight say that the fenders are week and prone to cracking. as a fat guy i try to avoid cracks at all costs!
    let me know your experience
    thanks

    You are not going to get fibeglass fenders as good as factory fenders.

    They are made...they are just not of high quality. I would stick with the metal fenders.

    I'm with 408w Maverick, why do think you want/need them?
    I have a race only Maverick and the only way I'd put any fiberglass on the front end would be a total front end I could take off all at once.
    I spend a lot of time bent over the front fenders..................and if mine were fiberglass I would have chipped/cracked them a lot.............
    It looks like you've got a pretty potent little SBF with 400hp, so if you want to start shedding weight there are other ways to do it without going spending $1000 bucks for fiberglass fenders....................IMHO

    Fiberglass fenders were a popular choice for rust repair around here, back in the days of cars going to the body shop every 5 years to be repainted and rust repaired.
    Every set I have ended up with have always been of pretty poor quality, as they were made to be cheap. It was funny, some of them had actual steel Maverick fender headlight bucket supports molded into them.

    The best way to get good quality fiberglass fenders is find some who works fiberglass and they can make them from the metal ones but to get a good mold they need a clean fender in good shape with all body work done but not painted.

    I had 'glass fenders on my car for a short while and they were pretty crappy. Took a lot of work to get them to fit right. Had to steal the headlight buckets from my steel fenders. You could see that they used an original fender as a mold, there was a Ford ID number on the top mounting flange of one.
