Hello, be easy on me please, i am new to having a maverick, i recently aquired my fathers maverick on a recent trip to florida, he told me he always wanted me to have this car, so i finally saved up enough money to drive my truck and trailer down to get it, i came back with what he once told me was a 75 maverick with a 351w in it i read the vin n it seems to be a 77,, but my questions are can this year maverick use parts like the hood, bumpers spoilers from a 71? i dont know to much about the interchange, i am mechanicly inclined just dont kno a darn thing about this little car, the most i have learned has been from looking around theese fourms, but all in all the car does need some work, and i will bring it back to life!!! my dad had a 71 maverick grabber bought off of the show room floor in detroite michigan, it was his first car, he was forced to sell back in 92, but wanted to turn this one into what he once has, or try to..........

Parts off a 71 will fit your 77 with a little work. I used 69-70 Mustang rear bumper brackets (inside the trunk) to mount a small rear bumper. The hood is a direct swap. The rear spoiler will need holes in the trunk lid and a new hole drilled to mount the lower piece that fits below the quarter extension. The other hole is already there covered with putty. To swap to a small front bumper you will need to notch the fender for the stone guard. Of course you will need all the parts from a small bumper car like the valance and bumper brackets/mounts to do a small bumper swap. Click the link to my website below to see how I done things.

A lot of late model owners have converted their Mavericks to early versions - if you use the "search" feature of the forum, you could find some of those old related posts (y)
