Junkyard. Theyre around $150 for a long block out here. Or look for deals on craigslist.

Then hope you can find a deal, if not your SOL. Or if your up to it you can pick up a JY one then throw a gasket and ring/bearing kit on it. 150+100+50=300.

Craigslist is Wonderful, everytime I look in the pars section I find motors between 300 and 500 Roller moters came across a 94 5.0 with rear end collision wanting to sell motor 78,000 mi for 450 My Recking yard wants 500 for a complete FI motor cant seem to find any pre FI motors for sale anywhere here but then again Im on the other end of the country.
I took a 86 5.0 and converted to Carb super easy and not too expensive.

take a ride around some back alley's. you would be amazed at some people. "if you can get it out of here you can have it" asking dont cost nothing, and at the very least you might run up on a sweet deal like some of the lucky stiffs on this board.
    good luck!

Theres no such thing. There are A Lot of parts required when you swap over to a V8. I would just stay with the 200 till you have the funds for a swap.

Then your going to need a trans,or at the very least a bellhousing.V8 frame stands/mounts,re-do or lengthen some wiring, throttle cable will work, just have to loop it up outta the way.Belly bar,(highly reccomend)Then theres the added weight of the v8,possibly springs, disc brakes.if your mav has the 7.5 rear axle,it wont hold up too long to any kind of torque from a v8,in which you should upgrade to a 5 lug rear,to match the 5 lug disc,to keep from carrying around 2 different spares.etc.Unless you get a good engine free or next to nothing, your $300 budget will be long gone in no time.Disc brakes, and the v8 frame stands just wiped out your $300.

Recent news is that you can use 6cylinder frame mounts and truck motor mounts to swap in a V8. Look up Russ`s build. He`s running it that way.
