I have a manual transmission out of a 65 mustang and I wanna put it in my automatic 70 maverick, I wanna put a floor shifter in. How hard will this be and how do I do it? Thanks
Not hard at all to do,if you have all the correct parts. You have the standard trans, but do you have the correct bellhousing, flywheel, the clutch package itself, the shifter and the linkage, maverick clutch pedal setup,z-bar,and all the linkage, and possibly a different starter? Alot of parts have to be changed over, but really not hard at all.
Here. This is for a 4 spd.swap, but the same basic princaples apply.http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=8113 Digging back into the vault a little bit
Thanks so much, all I have now is the new transmission, not sure what all the parts are, I don have the clutch pedal or new shifter
Its a lot easier if you can find a trans with as much parts all together as possible I am in the midde of a 4 speed swap my self and tracking done all the parts takes time and patients a manual swap is your baby as I was once told so just make a list and follow it What trans you thinking?
