Oil leak at intake manifold

i have an oil leak at the intake manifold. behind the carb. wipe it up and in a couple mins its back. what/where could it be

 

Behind the carb,or at the rear of the intake? If the leak is at the intake,...sounds like you need an intake gasket set.

also i but a new valve cover dress up kit with new gaskets i dont believe that is where its coming from, the gasket was very dried out and horrible to get off.

 

wow...never had one leak there.What kind of intake?Cast or alum,and 2 or 4 bbl.?

 

If you can, pressure wash the top of the engine,get everything nice and clean,and try and watch where the oil forms.

 

already washed it still leaks; its cast and 2 barrel. have you used any dye to put in the oil to check for leaks

 

Ok,is it leaking right where the carb mounts on the intake?

 

yes i believe and already had the carb rebuilt

 

oil sending unit is under the water pump it shouldnt be leaking behind the carb

 

Maybe if you have a pcv lineto intake it could be cracked ,sucking oil ,dripping,or maybegrimlins are at play.Just a dumb thought.

 

Did it leak before the carb was rebuilt?Possibly a cracked intake?

 

yeah it leaked before the carb was rebuilt

 

the line behind the pcv valve is disconeted from behind the carb. took out all the pollution control stuff.

 

and that line to the pcv is just laying there disconnected just laying there
