Yea some one told me to look at it looks super easy and very good hot rod mag gives great reviews on the kit
i talked to f.a.s.t. tech support to get more information on some of their products and they were very short, and condescending to me. after the conversations i have had with them i wouldn't buy anything from them. but that is just my feelings. i purchased a kit from affordable fuel injection for my 66 impala, great guys do talk to.
i also talked with them...i was asking about the... warranty... i was told..." there is...NO RETURN FOR any REASON...". I thanked them and hung up the phone... ...I now have a...Powerjection III returnless system... on the way...
Installed the EZ-EFI setup on a 331" small block Ford in a Fairmont a month ago. Works fine, easy to set up, easy to tune. Pretty much as the name implies....it's "EZ." Makes good power too. Very responsive at all rpm points. Next I'm going to try one on a big inch Pontiac engine. FAST says it's good up to 600 hp so we're going to try it on a 490" Poncho engine.
in the begining I had ordered their (Fast) setup...it was on the way. called them 10 days later and they said they had some problems they were working out on it. 10 days later, was told it would be shipped in the next 5 days. that's when i asked about the warranty, then cancelled. then i went with the...Holley system...it tuned out to be a turd...i had hell returning it...i had about $800 in dyno time trying to tune it. now i'm going to try the self tuning...Powerjection III returnless... system and see how it works. ShadowMaster, with your tuning skillls, you could get 25 HP out of a beer can... ...JMO...
Only barely related...regarding FAST products, but not the EFI. I purchased a FAST O2 sensor kit, and ended up going through 3 sets before I got one that worked. The integral "computer" was messed up on the first two. But, I got good customer support and tech help, and they sent all the replacement parts without a hassle and without shipping charges. So, the product was good only after several tries, and support was pretty good, in my experience. I have had better luck with Holley and Edelbrock parts and support.
I'm running a A9P ford EECIV computer with a explorer intake, modified throttle body, 94 T-Bird MAF and 24lb injectors. I use the Qurterhorse from http://www.moates.net/ to tune it and I will never use anything else. All of the fuel injection stuff including the harness I got for well under $1000.00 just picking stuff up piece by piece in scrap yards. I bought the fuel pump on Ebay and drilled and installed O2 sensor bungs in the Headmen shorty's. You can use other computers for more control like a 94-95 mustang computer to control a electric fan or a 4R70W trans but I chose the A9P because it is the simplest and most popular.
Just looked up that powerjection III system and looks simpler and easier to use along with cheaper anyone have one and hooked it on a dyno and seen how close it tunes it self? And fuel milage?
I have the powerjection III on my 71 Mav and it's great! Also received great tech support before and after purchase.
i just installed one on a 302 with afr 185 heads and e303 cam last week. really easy to install. i would recomend geting the kit with the fuel pump. the only complaint i had about it is the wireing harness splits off to all the different pig tails all at the same place. that point was 1 3/4" round in diameter. the car i was working on had a 1 1/2" hole already and i didnt want to grind it any biger. i took the injector pig tails and put them in two pig tails instead of the 4 pig tails. this alone reduced the diameter to just under 1 1/2. i would have liked to see the harness go in one loom all the way to the throttle body then have the pig tails come out at the right place to go right to the sensor like factory harnesses do. that is my only complaint with the kit. we got it from summit in just one day. it was really easy to program to start. just a few basic questions then a tps calibration then you start the car. let it warm up then an idle speed adjustment. then you just drive it. it drove perfectly on this motor. no problems at all, very responsive, lots of power. i would recomend it to anybody for a street car, or street and strip car. they even offer the computer and harness for multiport aplications. that means you could put it on with a factory intake and injector set up.
Damn...I've been forgetting to add the beer cans all this time. That is somewhat of a bitch. We had to cut a new hole in the firewall anyway so it wasn't a big deal. It would be nice if they loomed it all the way to the t/b though. Might shoot them an email with the suggestion.
