There's away to do it with outremiveing the window search some of the mustang sites. But if you did just by the gasket you can use it againg

It's very difficult to do. I've put in lots of headliners and there is no way in hell I'd try it.

A local shop put mine in without pulling the windshield or backlight. It looks great, no problems at all.

Is the mustang the same way as the maverick? The one in my falcon is different and its easy to put a headliner in without taking out the windshield. I have no clue how you would do it in a maverick without taking out the windshield. Id like to know how though :)

To install the headliner "properly" in a Mav requires removal of the windshield/backlight...

Exactly..."properly" being the key word here.

You are going to have to pull the weatherstripping back along the windshield and backlight to tuck the fabric under it and glue it down as well as cut it to proper length so it wont bunch up...(fighting the weatherstripping the whole time) That said you still have to pull the door and quarter window weatherstripping to tuck the fabric around the pinch weld and glue it to make it stay for 30+ years. You can pull the glass without ruining the weatherstripping if its new and you re careful/patient.

the windshield/weatherstrip being gone was the thing holding me back it took me a while to find one under $350 (ended up getting it for $140:thumbs2:) now that its finally in i dont want to have to take it out again.

Had one done yrs ago on a 75 Mav without pulling the glass. Fellow used to work on all the Hollywood movie cars and many celebraties personal cars. Took one day and 100 dollar bill. Looked great and was still in the car when sold a few yrs back. Too bad he has passed cause he was a artist and expert in his field. Had his shop here in Conway.
