I have all the clips off for the door panel on my 75 comet, the only thing holding it on is the door handle. Does anybody know how to get it off??
My handle doesn't appear to be the same as the ones in the diagram, must be a different make. Has anybody ever done it on a 75 comet?
If you are referring to the inside mechanism to open the door a '75 should have the small handle version which, as the diagram shows, (look for the screw identified by #57355-5 in the diagram) has a screw behind the plastic cup (#22644 in diagram) that lines the chrome handle bucket - you have to gently pop out the black plastic piece to get to the screw. Unless you are referring to the arm rest / handle assembly you should be able to get the latch handle unscrewed / panel off by doing the above - the arm rest piece is held on by big screws which are easy to get to.
that diagram looks more like it. and ill try popping off that plastic piece. i already got the armrest off. Ill work on it more tomorrow and let you know how it goes. thanks for the help!
