    :Welcome: from Northeast Pennsylvania

I have a Ford Explorer with a 4.0 V6 and I would be hesitant to tow any kind of weight with it. Best to at least get something with a V8 in it. :)

we towed my first maverick on a dolly. pulling wasnt a problem but the dolly in my opinion is only good for short travel situations(town-across state). scary on the highway 50-55mph was even sketchy.
i would recommend a trailer for the distance your going.

I was told and actually did tow my maverick with the front wheels down, the steering wheel locked and tied to be sure so I didn't have to detach the drive shaft.

I've got to agree with Craig, not only is the Escape too small, it's front wheel drive. No way I'd pull anything larger than a 4X8 trailer with a FWD. That being said, I did see an Escape pulling a 20' or so travel trailer on the interstate the other day. Not real fast mind you, but it was pulling it. I'd bet the tranny was red hot.....

ya, remove the drive shaft, if not you might damage the transmission itself unless you want to go 30 mph or so at fastest the whole way. But good luck

Thanks To All ... we have the car now!

We finally have our Maverick 76..... Thanks to all! We have a couple additional questions were hoping someone can help with....

    1. How do you remove the rear bench seat?

    2. When parked in the garage there are some gas fumes smelling up the garage....there is no gas leaking onto the floor.......what should we check?

    Thanks Again!

give a little lift on the front of the rear seat, then push back then lift again. should lift right out.

there are two bolts holding the rear seat in place, they arent usually put back in if it is worked on often or just dont care or need them. have to lift tup the top of the backseat to get to them. then its a lift and push thing like said before.
