I am trying to get my gauges to light up so i can see them at night

my blinker / warning lights work

so i pulled the gauges out and found out that the 2nd wire from the top on the right of the conector witch is the blue with a red stripe wire powers the gauge lights but is not geting power ? i know this because i ran power to the back of the cluster with it out and they all light up

so i think it might be the lights switch so i pull it off and i run power to all of the wires on it one by one and the lights still dont come on ?

so what i am thinking now is to run it to one of the other wires that runs down to the runing lights ?

and thinking of finding some other led's and drilling some holes and adding some to make it BRIGHT

You do know there's a fuse for that, right? If you've checked it, the dimmer rheostat on the headlamp switch may be the problem...

Turn the knob back and forth, while checking for power.

The blu/red feeds all dimmable lamps. It originates at the light switch, goes to the fuse, from the fuse it goes to a splice that feeds the dash cluster, heater illum., radio illum., shift quadrant illum., and console illum. Pretty easy to follow those out with a multi-meter. If you're dead-sure the fuse and switch are good, a broken wire is the only other possibilty...
