today i was switching out my old carb with the newly rebuilt one that i got and when i was screwing the fuel filter the threaded part broke off inside the carb and there is nothing sticking out to grab with pliers or a vice grip. i just put the carb on and i really don't feel like taking it off again so how can i get the piece out.
As was said before or if you have a "torx" set,get one that will "almost will go into the broken off part",and just tap it lightly into the hole in the filter thread. These work great for removing broken bolts too! Don't pound it,just take your time and "tap" it into the hole. I've had excellent results from doing this!
I'm also gonna post some pics of the carb setup because im not sure I have it all hooked up right. I took the car out after I put the new carb on and the engine seemed to be getting to much gas because the idle speed is faster than it was with the old carb. That may just be because I got used to the old carb where the butterfly valve on top was stuck open but it just didn't feel right and the engine was revving higher than normal. During the test drive the car shook when I came to a stop so I went straight home so I could open up the hood and I found a fuel leak so tightened up the fuel filter and it just kept turning until it finally just snapped.
