YES You would be crazy!!! Big Bumpers, What have you been smoking LOL.

Hell I'd be happy with a body kit for a newer mustang to make it look more like a maverick.

It sure would be nice to see a new Mav or Comet come out. But even with all the options on my car it's still the disposable car that people (remember) as the car they bought with there first house, or even a new car for the kid to go to college. In THE SEVENTIES!!!

I agree. They just need a two door Fusion with the Eco-Boost motor and all wheel drive. :drive:

How about this? Just make a special edition Mustang Grabber with the only engine available being the 3.5 Eco-Boost six? Honestly the Mustang is the car most like the Maverick today. And let's face it. The only way the Grabber name will return is on a Mustang. Remember there was also a Grabber Mustang that was its' own model in 1970.

I keep using the Eco Boost motor in my fantasy's because it is the one thing the Stang doesn't have. And another RWD car with any kind of sporty attitude would have to fill a different niche. I guess the real Maverick replacement today would be the V-6 Mustang.

Maybe they would release a competitor to the Miata(or "MX whatever it's called these days") With some anemic four as the base engine and a turbo four as the "Grabber?"

....they'd screw it up. I'd be horrified if a new Maverick came out. They'll never make anything as cool as the new Mustang without the Mustang name on it. I think the Maverick should just be left as an underdog legend.

i agree, figuring all the other old cars they brought back suck!! the impala, the charger, the malibu, i think the older mustangs look better then the newer ones.

To me the Camaro, Challenger and Mustang are the only cars to be "resurrected" to any degree. The spirit is still there. You can tell the originals were the basis. Cars like the Impala, Malibu and Charger only brought the name back.

The thing is considering how few Mavericks/Comets were actually made compared to other lines, If they were to bring back a name badge, I'm sure it would be more along the lines of the Fairlane and it would be a family sedan like the Taurus. Although if they were smart they would also Make a Fairlane 500 and put the new Coyote 5.0 in it. Sounds good to me.

AND REALLY WHO CARES! WE ARE RESURECTING MAVERICKS EVERYDAY. WHO NEEDS FORD! lol

sorry, wrote that wrong, the ones i listed were the ones i think they messed up on and shouldnt of brought back. I agree, the challengers, mustangs an cameros are the only ones they actually tried keeping along the same lines. But the way gas prices are going, if they brought it back it'd probly be a hybrid which just wouldnt work

Only a high performance V-8 and you don't think it will hurt Mustang sales? Dude if it weighed less and had the 5.0 it would totally hurt Mustang sales. That's why there has to be an angle Ford hasn't hit yet. The mustang has the high performance V-8. Why have two cars that fit that niche? It would cost a lot of money to make another car. Or they could spend less and base it off the Stang platform but that makes no sense either since you could just buy a Stang. Back when Mavericks were made everyone drove RWD coupes or sedans of various sizes and performance levels. It's not like that any more. Look at all the econo cars, pick-ups, and SUVs. Compared to RWD coupes and sedans. Most people drive something else.

Hell the idea I had for the Eco-Boost Grabber Maverick wouldn't fly because it would hurt 5.0 Mustang sales. Even the regular one I thought of with the 3.7 305 HP six would hurt V-6 Mustang sales. Now if the market for 2WD coupes was like it was in 1970 I could see Ford offering different flavors for different needs. But the Maverick will never return as the cool affordable thing it was. I'm hoping for a Grabber Mustang with the Eco-Boost V-6 and 425 HP.
