Pulled the 4 lug 8" out.

    Rebuilding the 5 lug 8".

The axle breather/vent bolt that holds the brass rear brake Y on top of the axle was huge in the 4 lug axle and the threaded hole in the 5 lug axle is considerable smaller.

When i head to napa to replace the brake line and bolt do i just ask for a 5 lug brake line and bolt or did this change at a certain year?

You'll need to know the year and engine size, for the car it came from. That would be best.
If they have any vent/bolts they may be able to match one up for you. If not, most Mustang restoration suppliers have different ones.

For several months Ford used a unique brake line on the 1975 rear axle. Unfortunately that was the axle I used for my swap. Took a lot of searching but Pep Boys Was able to get me the correct one.

Happened to me when I swapped in a 9", Since the axle housing was bare and cleaned, I just redrilled and tapped the hole in the axle to fit the old Mav's bolt. If you do this, make sure you have a way of getting the chips out...
