Hello, forum! I am new to this forum, and would like to take the time to introduce myself. My user is buckeyebiker, which I am a motorcycle enthusiast, but I am also an car lover. I love old machines; bikes, trucks, cars. I have a 1977 Maverick that I bought about 2 yrs ago. Plans are to restore it, but other things in life have caused a delay in that happening. I joined this forum in hopes of getting help in locating parts and history of the Maverick. I have a great Ford story I would like to share. My grandfather, Ross, was die hard Ford man. (This story I heard second hand from my uncle). He had a "collection" of Fords scattered through out his yard in the late 60's, early 70's. There were all kinds of models and different states of repair. One afternoon, two young men stopped by and found my grandpa under the hood of one of his gems. One young man asked grandpa if any of the cars were for sale in his junkyard. Grandpa got very angry and pointed his wrench at the men and said, "Do you see any Chevy or Dodges here?!?" "No, sir", one man replied. "That's right! It's not a junkyard! It's a Ford parts yard!" I am not as rabid as my grandpa was, but I do like Fords. Someday I will tell the story of how I aquired my Maverick. Thanks for letting me join Matt V. buckeyebiker
