A 1980 Granada with front disc set-up, they want $249.00 for it! I don't remember paying that much for mine from there. Funny thing, this Granada had a shifter and clutch pedal...but an automatic tranny behind a 302, Is that clutch pedal swappable into a Maverick? I am thinking about the rearend out of it for my 73', I know it's just a tad bit wider and will add 3/4 inches to each side but thats not an issue.
Wow, last time I bought some (in Tampa) I payed $65, for both spindles...mind you, that had to be over 10 years ago now....
I regularly buy them for 70 for the pair of spindles and don't tell them the caliber brackets are separate.
The rear axle being 3/4 wider each side is a good thing in my book. You can stuff more tire without needing a deep offset rim. Perfect if you run Magnums. Does that Granada have a console? Buckets might be good for someone here with later Mav with the cat hump floor, too, but the prices sound like these guys also run a meth lab in their off hours. I would hope you could buy the whole car for $250.
$250?? that's even higher than California junkyard priced, and we get ripped off all the time. For that price I'd expect a great warranty. But thats retail price on a set of Granada brakes(at least out here). So its not overpaying.
Nope no console....I was hoping for one, I just think they went crazy on the price, seems I remember paying $156.00 or something like that for my last disc setup from the same place, it did have bucket seats in it, I wonder if the will give a discount on Father's Day lol.
If that was a Granada Sport with a 302 4spd it may well have a 9" rear end in it. That is where I got the last one for my drag car a long time ago. Worth a look. It has 28 spline axles if it is but they are the ones that are thick all the way down and the are splined. Good rear end if it is a 9".
I know it's not a 9" rearend, if it was the guy that works there would have pulled it before it hit the yard, he knows what a 9" looks like and he checks every car that comes in for one, he told me I would never see a 9" in that yard. Still wondering about that clutch pedal setup and if it will swap over to a Maverick.
I have been holding off answering to see if anyone else has something definitive to say. Going off what I have read here ... They are based off of the same chassis. The floorpans do look very similar to me. I know that the far right passenger seat track for buckets is identical to the same LDO piece. Granada consoles fit our cars well, like they were made for them. Now ... if the mount for the clutch pedal is the same ... don't know for sure, but I kind of doubt that they had reason to change it. I would study that area of your car, and maybe take camera phone pics with you to the junkyard. If the brake pedal set-up is similar, I would expect the clutch pedal to be as well. If you can get a part number off of it and it starts "D0D..." (translates to 1970 Maverick) or any other number up through probably 5 (potentially 7) for that second character, it ought to be good.
Thanks Jeff, I will go and take a look Friday, I did look at the tranny and it looks small compared to a C-4 to me, it was an automatic for sure though, seems they changed out the tranny to an auto from a standard and just left the old parts there, the whole car is pretty clean underneath and it was easy to see, I really don't know what tranny it has in it but I will try and figure it out, just looks small and definately is an auto behind that 302 engine, car seems to have alot of options, I saw A/C. Will try and take camera this time.
