I really enjoy the AOD. I took a 600 plus mile round trip to Carlisle with 4.11 rear, I cruised comfortably at 2200 rpms. If you don't intend to lower the rear end ratio, I would go with C4.

If you plan to do much Interstate driving and you don't have tall tires I think you'll want the AOD. I know I do. At 70-80 MPH with 14" tires and 3.00 rear gear I'm turning 3000+/- RPMs. A shift into OD to get it down around 2000 RPM would be VERY welcome. AOD is on my list.

I have a friend that has a AOD behind a 351W in a 65 F100 that he drag races. You can build these to be very strong but if your not to worried about pounding on it then just do a rebuild if you think it may need one and use the AOD. C4's are great for racing but not interstate or long trips with lower gears.
