Hello all I have a 71 Mav with the 170Cu In6 with the carter yf carb. I can't get the carb to adjust. It will idle and run fine if I plug the end of the PCV valve with my finger. What is wrong here? I need help bad this is my daily driver and I don't have any other means of getting to work.

Is there some sort of diagram somewhere that will help me diagnose it?

Mkae sure all the vacuum ports on your carb are hooked to something or pluged.

With everything hooked up, spray some carb cleaner around the base of the carb and the the hoses. If the engine revs up, there is a vacuum leak at that point.

Alright so I got someone to run it while I was spraying carb cleaner around it. No spot in particular made it idle up. So I took a breather and decided to play around with the PCV some more. It passed the rattle test, I also tried to blow through it and suck to test whether it seals it passed. I thought just out of a moment of brilliance to swap it out with another from a different engine. I took it from my 88 parts BroncoII and it started to work just fine. Thanks for all your guys help! I'm so glad I got this figured out to go to work tomorrow.:thumbs2:
