This other thread brought up an intersting question that has me confused and I just gotta know the answer.

    http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=79186

Why would a 250 block plate be any different than a 302 block plate? They use the same bell housing, the same starter, the flexplate is the same diameter and the same amount of teeth.

So how could the 250 flexplate be in the way to get the starter in?

Im thinking that the other guy had a 200 and thats why it didnt fit. But so far its 1 to 1 that its the same and different. Would like to get a consensus though just to make sure. So Appmaverick go give it a shot and report back.

I've got a 250 with the trans still bolted on out back in my engine graveyard, if I get a little time I'll go pull the block plate & lay it ontop of one of my 302 plates and put this whole debate to rest.

The funny thing is that I asked the question not even thinking about the starter... I figured all the holes would line up fine, was just checking in case the 2 engines maybe had something that interfered in the middle section. Oh, my little mole hill. Look what happened to you...
