Hey guys, been working on my 76' mav. Just replace the carb with a holley carb. However, sometimes when i press the gas the accelerator line will push the choke and get stuck up? Does this make sense. There are notches on the choke metal part and this is the part that gets stuck behind the accelerator line. I don't think i'm describing it well, and i'm really new to working on cars so its been a struggle. I just don't remember that this choke part of the throttle was supposed to be soo loose as to get locked kinda upside down behind the throttle. Any help would be greatly appreciated. dave
I am kinda confused as to your problem. Have you added an additional return spring onto the throttle linkage? Dont rely on the stock cable spring. Run an additional return spring that will pull the throttle linkage forward when released. Autozone sells these in the help section. Dan
Fixed it. Now, i'm having the same problem that i was having before about fuel leaking out of the carb. Everytime i run the car for longer than 10 minutes ( and sometimes 1 minute), fuel begins leaking out of the bottom of the bowl. There is a shaft that comes out of the bottom of the bowl, and that's the exact same place where the fuel leaks. Sorry guys that my description lacks soo much details. This leaking problem happened on my last carb also. Thought i would fix it by switching carbs.... Thanks ahead again. dave
