I've never seen it in Lavender, but there is an orange. Thats not the stuff you want though, that is diluted for house hold use.

As far as the engine temp. Grease is my plyable and easier to get off then the engine is warm. Not HOT but warm.

I get Mean Green from Dollar General. It works REALLY well.

Well, I just started the car, was going to head up to the dollar store and pick up some stuff to get it cleaned. However upon starting I began hearing a horrible "clunk" noise. sounded like the fan was connecting with another piece of metal as it was revolving, however it wouldn't clunk every revolution...I popped the hood and looked a little and then just turned it off.

Went back out, checked all the plug wires (all seemed connected tight...) and fired it back up and my mystery clunking seemed to be gone. Might take it on a quick drive to dollar tree (about a mile away) and see if i get any of the clunking back.

Few last questions before I actually do it and screw it all up.
What all needs covered For Sure?
What is the best/easiest way to cover and avoid getting water in it?
With the LA's, Do I still just hose off, or should I wipe it off?

Put a plastic bag over the Carb and the Distributor, and be carefull around any other electronic, Voltage Regulator etc. Generally what I do is Get a couple cheap paint brushes when you are at the dollar store, Spray the cleaner and use the paint brushes to give it alittle scrub and to get into the tight areas. Then Hose it off. Test the La's Awsome cleaner on a spot before going crazy sometimes it's aliitle strong right out of the bottle for painted areas, the engine clock you can go crazy on.

I have nothing painted that's not getting repainted anyway so i'm not worried, did plan to test it out on my braces though since they are a bit eh as well. What kind of plastic bags? grocery bags or a ziplock like bag...should i tape it on as well or what? Thanks!

The whole engine compartment, and engine is painted.
Use a bag that fits, you don't want any water getting into the carb.

Got her cleaned up, Looking good but still more cleaning to do. Shock tower braces will probably come off tomorrow for more room like i was advised. Gotta get more cleaner...the car was a mess! One downside of cleaning it is i can see all the rusted spots now...but oh well.

The best thing I have found to get in the tight spots in an engine compartment is a toilet brush. You can bend it to where you need it and works very well.
