igniton coil question

    im going to college for auto tech at cwi and im in advance engine right now and we were talking about igntion systems today and what. my teacher tho confused me and i think hes kinda wrong so to prove this i have a question for u all. the wire supplying pwer to your igntion coil on your cars is hooked to which prong the positive or negitive? then which is the distributor hooked up to? thanks if i can get this cleared then i can make sense to my teacher and show him with some spare parts i think ha

    the coil gets power from the igniton switch on the + side. then the ground side goes to the distributor or ignition box or fuel injection computer. the - side is given a ground to charge the coil then the ground gets broken to release the charge out the tower of coil.
