had a small leak out of a water pump bolt so i tried to tighten it to no avail... so i pulled the water pump and replaced the gasket.... started putting all the bolts back in and as i was tightening one bolt broke flush at the block.... the death of my last block was due to this same bolt hole lol.... so i crossed my fingers and tried to remove it... i first tried welding a nut onto the end but the weld wouldnt stick... so i started drilling... the last one the bit broke off inside the bolt and i was unable to drill it or remove it.... but good luck was on my side and i was able to get it out lol

then i put the front of my engine back together and didnt put water back in it cause i was scared it would still leak and i would have done all that for nothing lol

yeah it turned out that the bolt broke because it bottomed out just as it seated at the head also.... so just a quarter turn twisted it clean off

    Replacement bolts?

On the subject of the bolts...where is a good place for replacements? I just replaced my water pump but I think the next time I would replace the bolts also to prevent one from breaking like this.
