Well, I just returned from the garage where my Maverick passed the Texas Inspection. Don't know why I was so worried but I guess after all of the electrical issues that I had, I had reason. Funny thing was that I drove pass the garage first and then turned around and drove up to the garage. Three mechanics were arguing about what that gold car was that passed by. One said a Mustang, another said a Pinto and the third said a Maverick. Needless to say that they were all pretty tickled when I pulled up. The guy that guessed right had me drive the car into the bay when I told him it was a 3 speed manual column shifter. He had no idea how to drive the car. One last item to do now, get my State tags and I'm road worthy! Well, legal at least. On the way home I decided to stop and pickup some Tacos to celebrate and I setoff a trucks car alarm from the vibration of the V8. Just to make sure, after I picked up tacos, I drove back by the truck and set it off again.
here in utah if i register my comet as a standard driver, not a historical vehicle, we have to have emmissions done. when i was driving the car as my daily it took a little bit of tweeking to get it to pass every year.
Yeah, Florida doubled the price of a tag renewal.. My truck went from 46 to 95 bucks and the mav went from 15 to 45 bucks...
Well, my inspection consisted of checking the lights and mechanics but not the emissions. In fact, he didn't even check the lights. He was asking all sorts of questions about the car and what I had to do to get her up to spec and then he stuck the inspection sticker onto the windshield. Total Cost: $15.50. He said it would normally be less but the extra $1.50 was for the certificate to transfer title.
with your prices is the a month or a year? if its a year im moving there! one year is like one month in BC
Here in Arkansas we have no inspections at all. But you can be stopped for a "roadside safety inspection" anytime. They don't do that unless you have a light out or soemthing, at least as far as I know.
