I don't know if anyone remembers me mentioning a Green 1971 Maverick Grabber in Georgia some time ago that I was trying to buy, the owner never would give me a price on it, well the other day I recieved a text saying he was ready to sell it, I inquired about the price and he stated he wanted $2500.00 for it, ok ya got me interested, because it had the 351 W engine that someone had put a cam in and flubbed it up so it wound up with bent valves, and had the 4 speed behind it, well I got pics and more info today on it, it no longer has an engine or tranny in it...gone, it is fairly rust free but needs a bit of work on the driver side quarter where there are pin holes rusted, grill and radiator are removed (there but removed) and the interior needs work, I can't see paying that kind of money for it...if he will come down about $1500.00 I would consider it then...he said he would work with me on the price but we shall see what he comes up with. PICS....cuz I know ya want them! I only got the 4 on my phone. Comments welcome....
Allrighty. It looks to be a real Grabber. As Dave mentioned......cool color combination. With a black interior, you could easily change the color if you desired. I agree...$1500 would be a nice price. Wish it had AC....but that might be wishing for too much.
Well I won't hear from him until Bike Week which is at the end of this month, hopefully he is selling alot of stuff and making good money and will give me a deal, he is a vendor there at the hotel I DJ at, and yes the color is just what I am wanting.
Bike week (Bikes, blues and BBQ) is here at the end of the month too. You're not talking about that one are you?
Bike Week......Thunder Beach is what it's called here, but first gotta get through this weekend, the fall concert series starts this weekend with opening performances by friends Justin Moore and Randy Rogers Band and then the headliner Miranda Lambert in concert Friday Sept. 23, and Jason Aldean on Saturday Sept 24. Then the 11th Annual Thunder Beach Fall Rally Date: 09/28/2011 - 10/02/2011 And I have been contracted to provide music for the vendors and the Bikini Bike Wash all week, I just hate my job.....NOT!!!
Ok I spoke with him again today about the Grabber, we may be finally getting somewhere on the price, he mentioned $1200.00 and I said you CAN do better than that can't you, he is gonna call back in about an hour or so, If I can get him down to $1000.00 I am gonna get it, I have checked with the Fla. DMV about getting a title as it has none from Ga. and that will be no problem to get...now it's the waiting game.....tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock.......enough I need the final bell to ring!!
I haven't seen a decent Maverick for sale anywhere around me in a couple years. If you like it, jump on it.
