Whats the consensus on how much HP I can safely throw at a factory 351 roller block? I know on the 5.0's that once you start approaching 550 or so you're living dangerously...Getting ready to make a move to a 351 based engine combo and am just getting a feel for which way to go...

5.0 blocks, some may handle 550, some break at 300. Not uncommon to see 351W roller blocks live with 600 hp. In both cases rpm is what causes the caps to walk and webs to flex, leading to destruction.

Yeah...thanks. I just got word from the machine shop that my #2 main web is cracked around the bolt hole, so I'm just stepping up to a 351 based combo.

Honestly...I have no idea lol. I was running almost 102 mph in the 1/8th mile witn 3.89 gears and drag radials, so it was probably not doing too bad.
