Ok so this will be my THIRD time rebuilding this tranny, getting tired of doing this so was wondering if anybody can help me find a good kit to put in my car. Its a 302. 60 and it has head, carb, cam, intake, and headers. The power is just killing my tranny, when it gets a bit hot my tranny it takes awhile to go into third. Gonna toss a 351 in it later so i need to find the right stuff.. Anyones help id appreciate :)

    Oh btw its a c4

Check with Jay at http://www.broaderperformance.com/en/ and mention you are a Maverick forum member and he will give you a discount, or at least he use to. He is a Ford guy and a great person to deal with and is in Texas

Dont know what the problem is with your tranny that you have had to rebuild it 3 times so cant really answer your question, but the 500hp rebuild kit is a good start and might want to consider a new valvebody as well. But if problem with your tranny is not related to parts you will be changing you will just be throwing money away

I bought the entire tranny from him and 2 valve bodies and a torque converter and have been totally satisfied and would not hesitate to buy anything else from him or ask him any questions

Well i ran it a couple times at the track, and now in the morning when its cold. I take off and it takes awhile to go into third but it does. But when it gets hot or if i drive it for awhile it stays in second and doesn't shift to third and takes awhile to go into it, thats why im thinking i need another rebuild.

Get Jay's (Broader Performance) 500 hp. It costs $900 and you won't ever look back.

If you talk to Jay (call before noon central time) he will tell you what you need and suggest options to choose from.
Since you have built the transmission and not had it last for long - I suggested buying the 500 hp C4 from Jay because it will last. You can chose the valve body you want and select from a couple of different shift settings. I would also suggest a new converter (Jay sells a good one) and a BIG auxillary cooler. That is in case there is a lot of stuff in your old converter and for extra cooling.

Tell him Paul, from Seattle says hi.
