http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=47380 Hey look through the 1 - 6 pages in that thread, the last pick on page 6 is without the shocks installed i think.
Nope, runs and drives ---- needs more sanding and paint put on it. It's 10 miles from my house to it, so i usually only work on it 1 or 2 days a week, and there have been times when i havent touched it for months.
Anything more than a 2" block in the rear and you have to be concerned with driveshaft to floor contact towards the rear
just picked up some universal 1" lowering blocks this evening, hope to get them put on asap. on a side note DDB you have an awesome little car, i love the stance
Are the lowering blocks you have solid? Don't use them if they are those cheap cast aluminum ones. Thanks, wait till you see my next one
Heres few pics of my Mav's stance slick, i think you should take the advice of eveyone who has said to cut a half coil at a time on the front. I cut half a coil off mine, went to install and thought the spring was still way to tight in the compressor, so i cut another half off ---- i wish now that i would have stop at the half mark, but what's done is done. I'll just have to wait and see what it sits like after alignment and rims and tires installed.
too bad you cant add back on to the spring if you cut too much..i think 1/2 a coil is the general concensus, thats where im gonna start. im also running a set staggered wheels so the front will come down a little anyways
Yep, but i figure what the heck, worst case scenario i will have to spend another $100 to change it back. Right now it's a wait and see game, drives nice and soft though.
thats why i didnt want to heat my springs, i know the ride quality would go away if i went that route. the car rides pretty nice now so i dont want to mess that up
Never a good idea to use heat on em. The springs that are in it came out of a 76 i found in a JY, big bumpers --- AC, when i installed them it looked like the car could hold a big block with no problems.
Man that's low.. Almost slammed lol. I have seen guys heat the springs and it be different from left to right cause they react and fall different to each other. I also seen one guy tweek a ride height on a truck by heating one side. Brought it down to match the lower side. He seemed to know just how much heat to add. I still think it was a gamble..
i just realized today when i got under the car that i have air shocks in the back, i ended up raising the back about an inch so id have a little bit of rake. the car is still gonna come down an inch all the way around cause its just to high. one thing i also found was the car is about 5/8 to 3/4 of an inch lower on the drivers side rear..anyone know why?how to fix it?
