Ah yes, I remember this thinking from when I came on board. There is a balance. Ultimately "Safety First" will ban what we are all about. On the other hand, not recognizing reality will hurt those whom we love. My oldest daughter has her 1976 Ford Highboy, my oldest son a 1963 F-100, son number two, the 1971 Maverick, daughter number two, a 1967 Ford Ranchero and I am not sure what the next one will get (a Comet GT?). The only one that was/is a long term daily driver is the 71 Maverick. Two of my four children have been in accidents. No classics or children were hurt in these test. My congratulations on rande77 for keeping the flame alive in a younger generation. And yes, I started driving a 1950 in 1979. No, they are not the safest car on the road but I still can't afford one of those. Without a doubt, a classic is not the best choice for every young driver but someone sure has given my kids a good dose of classic-stalgia.
