I've heard this is bad, but coming back from Vegas to LA I coasted for about 5 miles in neutral... at 70 mph.. I've heard that some parts don't get lubed when using this "overdrive" ...anybody know for sure??
I got really great milage this trip... since lowering the fron end and eliminating the road wander, I got 21.8 mpg going there at 70 and 23.75 coming back.. tires pumped up to 41 lbs.. Its more uphill going than coming..

Little different here, on a 18 wheeler with manual transmission, we had some bearings go out due to running downhill with engine idling and tranny in neutral. Either Fuller or Eaton diagnosed that problem. Engine idling did not turn fast enough to lube Tranny while coasting. May or may not relate,,, but helps with my posting numbers.
