I had my line lock plumbed before the combination valve in my 75 maverick and I never had the brake light come on.
Biggest problems over the years I see are, line and or lineloc solenoid above master cylinder, solenoid reversed lines, both sides of brakes ( right-left side) not plumb directly into line loc. Line lock solenoid is a ONE WAY VALVE!!!
Hmmm. Never had a problem with any of the above... I had the linelock plumbed into the stock master cylinder like this, then when it died and I got the Wilwood upgrade, I just bent the lines to reach the appropriate holes on the new master cylinder. Works like a charm, no pressure drop, no red lights, except the one that indicates that the linelock is activated.
Very good point, separate post for it. My Wilwood master cylinder has the front and rear brake fluid reservoirs swapped compared to a stock master cylinder, so don't plumb your exactly like mine or your back brakes will be locked, not front. Here is the original master cylinder with the original lines. Ugly. worked. Not as well as the Wilwood.
Thanks for the heads up on NHRA rule on line locs ShadowMaster, when was that put into play ? Mine is plumbed incorrectly so I guess I better change it, my brake light did come on but I knew why but didnt think about changing the plumbing around to the stop it, live and learn
Thanks for proving my point. John and Scott both have some malfunction in their brake warning system.
As soon as you said something about it, I recognized the symptoms, I have had it that way on 2 different Mavs one disc drum and the other drum drum. It never created a problem I was aware of just irratating. It was just doing its job. :Handshake
2011 I believe. Not every track tech inspector knows about the rule change but you don't want to plan a trip, get there, unpack, head for tech and get booted.
