I have an early model 1970 maverick with a 200-CID engine that likes to stall a lot. Not good for driving by my teenage daughter. I am thinking of upgrading to a more modern 302 v8 with fuel injection. has anyone done this? or is there a way to put fuel injection on a 200 I6? thanks for any suggestions.

There are a few tech articles on this. And some build threads. But, the build threads are mostly pictures and woo I did this. Just gives you ideas. The tech articles lack some detail, but make sense to people who already know how to do it.

I'm preparing to do the efi upgrade. So far I know you need:

A electric high pressure fuel pump.

A way to get fuel from your tank to the pump.

A fuel return line to your tank somehow.

An efi engine or injectors and what not.

    ECU - computers

    O2 sensor equipped exhaust

    cats

lots of other stuff I don't know yet.

And about fuel injecting the six. Check out www.fordsix.com They got lots of info on the six cylinders.

O2 sensors can be added to any exhaust and cats??? No way you put cats on a 70 Mav. The car isn't designed for them, no room and it doesn't have the heat shielding it would need. Look here for some great info http://oldfuelinjection.com/
