    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    I would weld that brace back to the pan...It will creak/groan if you pop rivit it...

    If u weld it - Wud u remove the fuel tank?
    If I were going to rivet - I wud just use the rivets to pulley the brace to the pan for the panel adhesive to get a gud grip.

    yes i would drop the tank if i have to but idk what adhesive to use

    Welding is a lot less expensive but a lot more work. Im considering something like the link I have posted. I have not used this method but I guess it works cuz it's used in the industry.

    Im just waiting till it gets warm enough in my part of the country to decide which way im going. If I use this method I will sheet metal screw the brace to the body, bond, paint and leave the screw intact.

    Ur welcome. I think it's worth the 60bucks not to have to pull the tank, cover up the interior of the car to give it a try. If it don't work u can still grind the stuff off and do the weld thing.
