I edit my first reply. This is dead on. I totally forgot. Yes I should have taken a lot more pics along the way. Especially the body and paint. Also I should have used my wifes high end Canon instead of my older Kodak Digital for quality reasons. This I would suggest to all doing this type of work on a project!!!! Take more pics than you think are needed and monitor the quality of them.

right now its paying too much up front for the thing. There ended up being a lot of more problems with the rear quarters then I had thought. I think I payed about 30% to much for the car.

    X-Pipe

I regret using an X-pipe in my exhaust system. Not only won't the transmission come down without taking the exhaust apart but neither will the trans support cross member. Can't adjust the modulator confidently with the cross member in place.

Gonna see if the x-pipe can be eliminated so as to allow the transmission to come down with the exhaust pipes in place.

I had the exhaust shop put ball and socket connections on the back of a x pipe on a Mustang i had.Sort of like the original H pipe.Just undid it at the headers and the rear of the X,i could drop it out of the way in minutes. Just a idea

I also have connectors just ahead of the mufflers so I can take the exhaust pipes down by unbolting them at the headers and at those connectors. But, I have shortie headers and getting the bolts off and on the headers by myself requires a LOT of contorted positions and repeated trips up under the hood and back under the car. It takes about an hour of frustration getting them off and another hour putting them back on. It would be a lot easier if I had a lift.

I've had the exhaust pipes off and on more times than I expected and now I need to adjust the modulator (again) and replace the governor. Time to toss the x-pipe. Just something to think about for guys that work alone with the car on jack stands.

Some kind of easy off/easy on connectors ahead of the mufflers are a must but with the DT shortie headers they aren't the whole solution.

Shoulda Bought a Memory Tach with Shift Light

Regret not buying a memory tach with built in shift light. I have a new tach and an external memory device but no shift light. When running at the strip, I find I'm too busy driving and looking for the traps to focus on the tach. Shift light would be a nice assist.
