I can't seem to get an aftermarket stereo to work. I have a 73 and was wondering if anyone new what color the power wire for the radio is. It had the original philco am radio. I'm not very good at electrical work so all help would be greatly appreciated. I also need to know where to ground the stereo.

    Thanks,
    Jonathan

I have always grounded mine to the chassis. As far as it not working, most newer radios need two hots, a switched one and a constant one. Good luck.

    AC

EDIT: the two hot wires may be red and yellow. The yellow needs to go to the battery (fused) and the red goes to a switched hot(the factory radios hot). hope this helps.

I hard wired the stereo to the battery. And of course, I used some fuses. It works great now. Thanks,
