Speedometer Gear

    I have a 71 Maverick with a 302, C-4 trans & 3.80 gears in the rear can anyone tell me which color speedometer gear I should use?

    I would think the white one from TCI. Check this link. I run the white gear with my c4 and 4:11, 255/60/15 It reads 60mph/ actual speed 65mph. So its still out a bit but close enough. Read the NOTE below listings. This gear doesnt last long. Mines pretty chewed up after 3 seasons. Due for a new one actually.

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    Running a 23 tooth in my Sprint with 3.80s' and an AOD. Its 3 MPH low according to my GPS.

    I'm running a 23 tooth with my maverick 4.11 with 225/60-15 reads about 5 to fast

    Ditto on the 23 tooth gear. It's going to be to only tooth count that'll get the reading close. I have a 21 or 23 (don't recall which) but the readingis all over the place with the 40 year old speedometer, I just go by rpms to figure my speed.
